I think "Rhyme" was used most effectively. I think it created an emotional effect on me by the way everything mixed. The words had alot of meaning in the song. They made the words Rhyme but were also able to put more poetice devices in them.

Onomatopoeia was used effectivley because it gave the song some light to it. It had an emotional effect on me in this song because it helped describe th e setting and to paint a better picture in my mind of what was going on at that certain point in the song. It also gave it some sound and rhythm to the fireworks.

I think that simile was used best. The reason is because every phrase has more then one example. I feel that it makes the song easier to connect with.

Hyperboles were used most effectively and they created an emotional effect on me because I can relate to them. For example, I know what a firework looks like, so I can relate to her saying, "Shoot across the sky, 'cause baby, you're a firework." She also uses similes, and those were important for the same reason. They help me relate to what she's saying. Like when she says, "Like a lightning bolt, your heart will blow." I know what lightning looks like so I can see what she's trying to say.

I think they were both equaly effective. If i had to choose one it would be imagry, because you can picture being in a state of mind where you are on the brink of breaking like a house of cards or being so depressed or pushed around like the paper bag you just want to start over. maybe you do get you chance and you do ignight the light and feel your improvement it's effect on me is just making me go over my life see what im doing so I think imagry is its most important poetic device.

I choose personification becuase Katy Perry song says that"If you knew what your future holds".It made me think what am I going to do in the future.Am I going to be successful or not and live on the streets begging for money and have no life. This song really inspires people to shine and leave there past behind them.

I think that the most effectivly used poetic device was similies. They created images in my head that made me feel connected to the song. It was as though I was watching a firework show on the forth of July, or I felt as though I was watching a paper bag blow away. The simlies made me feel as though I was a part of the story.

I think Rhyme would be have been the most effectively. It created an emotional effect on my by how everything was all mixed up. And espically for me because I love when things rhyme. The words in the song have a lot of meaning to them, they aren't just words put together they, all mean something. The words to me mean " Be yourself, don't care what anyone else thinks". There's more poetic devices for this but I think rhyme is the best one to use.

The poetic device that mostly affected me in Katy Perry's song "Firework" was when she said "Do you ever feel so paper thin, like a house of cards one blow from caving in." It emotionaly affected me because I think its saying how other people let people get to you. And I also think that it means that other people let people go through them and walk all over them. So im always going to remember not to ever let that happen to me.

Similes were used the most effectivly because you don't have to feel like a waste of space. You do feel like a plastic bag wanting to start again. You sometimes feel like this when you are down or depressed. The reason why I think this poetic device is important is because you can understand it better than any other poetic device used in this song.

The poetic device that was used most effectively is.......Rhyme. Rhyme because I like the way she rhymes 2 or 3 words together like, Thin and In or Light,Shine, and Night, They are small words put togehter that rhyme in a song. Rhyme is one of my favorrite poetic devices that I really like and thats what I like about this song, and I never thought that there could be alot of rhyming in a song like there is in a poem

One poetic device that was used most effectively and how it created an emotional effect on me was onomatopea. Onomatopea was effective because it made me understand what was going on. For instance, boom helped me understand what sound that the firework made. Thats the poetic device that was most emotionaly effective.

hyperbole, i know im not a firework, but in the song she says that i'm a burst of colors, and worth something then a plastic bag and a waste of space. She exaggerates how amazing i am to make me feel worth something. I think shes trying to say in her song, that we're all cool and amazing in our own way, like me i'm really weird and spaztic but thats what makes me my own person and i guess "cool." so thats why this song is wonderful shes trying to make us all feel good about our selves.:D

One poetic device I thought was the best way to make an "emotional effect" in me, was metaphors. This had an emotional effect by saying you are something more than regular person, you are amazing! Katy Perry makes it seem as if she is talking to youby saying metaphors! She does this by saying you are a firework, in this way she is saying that you are beautiful and you need to be avalible for every one to see the true beauty of you.

I believe that the poetic device of rhyming was used most effectively. This is because no good song is complete without rhyming, and for me, rhyming makes the lyrics stick inside my head, and so I reflect and think about them later, and I learn their true meaning. I think the true meaning of the song is that eveyone is special and everyone is beautiful inside, no matter what other people say, which is something I can relate too.

One of the poetic devices that Katy Perry used was similies. When she used similies it made me imagine how the person was feeling. For example she said "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag." When she said that it made me think about how the person felt, maybe people were taking advantage of them, or didn't even realize that they were standing right there.

One poetic device was the use of the similie. It made an effect in me because sometimes I do feel like a plastic bag, but other times I feel awesome just like fireworks. This song is one of two songs that inspire me to be who I am.I listen to these songs all the time. One of my favorite quotes that my mom has in our house is "Be yourself, everyone else is taken".

I think that the most effective poetic device was a simile because they are what made up most of the song by comparing things. All of the similes effected my emotions because they are funny. Honestly I do not think that a person could feel like a plastic bag. I also do not think that a person could feel like a house of cards. I thought each simile was funny because they compared things that I would never feel like. That is why I thought similes were the most effective poetic device.

I think the metaphors are the most effectively used poetic trait. When I heard metaphors such as 'let your colors burst', or 'baby you're a firework', I knew that it meant that you should be yourself and show everyone the amazing person YOU are. She was comparing u to a firework when she said that because you can't really be a firework. It felt to me like Katy Perry was talking to me trying to tell me to be a unique person who stands out and who is different than everyone else. It ment to me that I should not try to be someone else, but be me and learn to love who I am, and always will be.

I think that the one that does the most emotianal effect on me would have to be the similes. The reason I think it is that is because she uses similes to make you feel worthless and bad at the begining of the song, but then uses them again later at the end of the song to make you feel happy and worth something and feel a whole lot better about yourself.

I think the similes were used most effectively in "Firework." They created an emotional effect in me because Katy Perry uses really good similes in this song and it makes me think. What I think of is, if I ever feel, " like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind," I can know that everyone feels this way. I don't have to feel, " like a waste of space." I am, " original, cannot be replaced."

The reason you would want to remember this song is so if yo feel like a waste of space you can remember this song and feel good about yourself. That is my opinion on the song Firework.

The one poetic device that was used most effectively was a metaphor. It helps me understand the text more and puts it in a different prospective. It creates an emotional effect in me by not making the text boring. I like to read things that sound good, not bad. A metaphor puts the text in a way that makes the text flow. My favorite poetic device is a metaphor.

The one poetic device most effectively was rhyme. It created an emotional effect in me because most of the verses rhymed or at least the words were sounding alike. So for me it put more emphasis on the end of each line. I knew that it would have a solid stop on the end of the line just so it would put more emphasis on the last word and go along with the rest of the verse. It also felt like it made the selection flow more together. This was definitely written in a way that I enjoy reading!

One of the few poetic devices that was most effective on me was when the song rhymed. In the song anytime i hear a rhyme everything makes since. The words are just easier to understand. After you rhyme you can keep on adding on rhymes and rhymes to make more since. The emotional effect on me was that the song actually made sense. It's telling you that you should be yourself and be the best you can be.

I think that the metaphors in the song "Firework" created an emotional effect in me. Probably because I can relate to that and being compared to a firework is sometimes a perfect example on how a person feels when they are mad, depressed, or insecure about themselves. Also, just being compared to things is sometimes the only way you can show how you feel. I can relate to so many things in the song because whenever I think of how my father doesn’t live with us and hasn't got to see the way me and my sister are growing up, it just tears me apart. I feel as if I need to take the anger out on someone else, but I hold it in and know I have to be strong for my mom and sister. It's what's best for them and me. Whenever I hear this song, it makes me want to show my mom and dad how I feel, but I know I can't. My opinion doesn't matter. I can only imagine that by the end of this year my sister will be at college, away, or moved out. I just know that doing this on my own is going to be hard, but I have to. Occasionally when I see my dad, I try to tell him how I feel, but I will never be able to.

I think that Alliteration was used effectively because, I could feel the effects of the oh,oh,oh. It was like someone telling someone that they need to come out of there box. I thought that it was emotional because you could tell when she is saying come on let your colors brust it is showing that that person is coming out of there box and showing what there worth.

I think that the most effective poetic device was rhyme because, it helps to hear the words flow smoothly from one to the other. It also helps you get an idea of what Katy Perry is singing about in the song. I choose the rhyme because, I could understand all of the beat and emotion that she expressed into this song. It helps me to get a better idea of how she feels. Without the rhyme the song would not be as easy to understand. Also it would make the song pretty hard to dance to if it didnt have any rhyme because, the rhyme helps with the beat! @udrey:)

Similes. Similes were used more effectively then rhymes were in the song. Because, similes describe the song’s meaning(s), gives examples from real life things, people, and others, and give descriptions using real life things, people, and others, using like to make them together even though they are not close to being the same thing. So that is why I think similes were used more than rhymes were in Katy Perry’s “firework”.

They can't be replaced so that makes you unique. If something unique goes away then it will never come back. If you think you are, you aren't. Each person has a purpose that they don't know yet. If you think you are a wasted space, then go out and find the purpose you were made for.

The poetic device that created an emotional effect was hyperbole. It affected me because when I’m upset or angry I do feel like I’m six feet under and no one hears a scream. Also she uses hyperbole when she says “do you ever feel, feel so paper thin…” Many people have personal problems or their unhappy so they compare themselves with many other things. Her line “‘cause baby you’re a firework, show ‘em what your worth" She makes you realize your someone in the world.

One poetic device that I found most effective was which Katy Perry used a simile to compare us, the readers, to great things. She said, “You don’t have to feel like a waste of space, you’re original, cannot be replaced.” I think what she said is inspiring and that it may gain more self confidence to the reader. That Katy, somebody who is very well known, famous, it’s great for the reader to hear that from someone like her.

I think a poetic device that was used effectively in Katy Perry’s “Firework” was hyperboles. Lines such as, “As you shoot across the sky,” interest the reader and make them imagine the literal and true meanings of these words. I really imagined being buried, screaming for help and nobody’s listening. I then found the true meaning, which is nobody listens to you. Katy Perry did a great job of making the reader use their imagination and find the true meaning of the song.

I would pick personification because the personification explained how you could be wonderful in yourself. It’s also better to hear it from a famous person that’s your idol, makes you want to be more wonderful and feel good inside.

By using examples of personification most people (including me) can relate to the song. Ms.Perry has created a masterpiece, and a wonderful poem.

The poetic device most used was a rhyme. The way it created an emotional effect on me was, when you rhyme in a song it makes it fit together and it also makes sound alot better. When you rhyme in a song , It sometimes makes me feel like i can relate to it. If that makes any sense.

The poetic device that had the most emotional effect was the chorus. The chorus used a metaphor.Which compared my life to a firework. That is emotional because a firework is amazing so she is saying that I am amazing.

When Katy Perry says let my colors burst, that makes me feel so positive. I have skills I want to show the world and, I am going to burst it out of me. That part makes me want to try my hardest and do my best. I can’t explain it but, it’s practically saying you got talent, don’t hide it, show it to the world.

To me, similes were used most effectively. Similes were used best in my opinion because I sometimes feel "like a plastic bag, drifting through the wind, wanting to start again." But, after reading the lyrics of the Katy Perry song "Firework", I know that it is okay and I'm not the only one who has felt that way. I have also felt "so paper thin, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in", because many things in my life, good and bad, seem to happen in a flash.

I think the Simile was used most effectively because she would relate feelings people have to objects and what they go through. Which make the reader feel that someone understands what they’re feeling and going through right now in their life. And then she says “Baby you’re a firework” which makes them imagine a firework and think of themselves as one. That there bright and beautiful and powerful. In this song it helps people get their confidence back and change their whole day.

Of all the poetic devices in Katy Perry's "Firework", I think that the most effectively used poetic device is the omnipotent metaphor, especially the first part of the chorus "'Cause baby you're a firework". It's such an amazing metaphor because it makes me feel like I'm a bright person that can do anything, which is probably why so many people listen to this song. That was just one metaphor in a sea of many though, which are all effectively used, that is why I chose the metaphor as the most effectively used metaphor. This assessment has made me realize how poetic devices were used today, beyond writing that is.

The most effectivly used poetic device in "Firework" by Katie Perry, was the things that rhymed. It created a powerful emotional effect in me because of her choice of words. The way Katie put the words together made them more powerful.

The most used poetic devide was 'rhyme'. The effect it had on me was that when all the words rhymed, it made things in the song make more sense. It made the song easier to understand. And i got the point of the song easily. The song 'Firework' was well written in poetic devices.

"You don`t have to feel like a wast of space you`r original, cannot be replaced if you only knew what the future holds after a hurricane comes a rainbow." This poetic device of a simile created emotin for me by saying thatyou are worth somethig. You don`t have to feel like you`r nothing, because you were put on this earth for a reason. Don`t let anyone or anything stop you from acheiving you goals!

Personification was one poetic device that came to me in a emotional way. Because what it is saying to me is that a plastic bag wants to star over, but it can't. Many times I feel like I want to go back and start over during my life. So, I believe Personification was used most effectively.

Metaphor was used most effectively because that device was telling you, you can be a firework. It created an emotional effect in me by telling me I am a firework. Which means I can do whatever I dream to. I can make it through anything. I can be myself, and in the end it’ll be okay. I can do, or be anything!

I think similes were used the most effectively because I felt like I was actually what it was comparing. I felt like I could loose myself in the song by being that thing. Emotionally I felt very at peace because the comparisons made me feel like I’m that plastic bag floating through the wind and that is why I think similes were used the most effectively.

I believe the one poetic device that was used most effectively were the similes. I believe the similes were used most effectively because the way they are used, it feels like Katy Perry is personally talking to me. She uses a feeling that many people have and understand, then tries to help them through it using the similes. For example: "Do you ever feel like a plastic bag..." That phrase is asking the listener if they ever feel that way, and then encouraging them, or giving them a "pep talk" throughout the song.

I believe that the similes in the song could make me emotional. The way she made it effective to compare how you can feel in life, to something wanting to stop for a while. This is how I feel compared to rumors that I deal with. The best simile in the song was the one where she made you feel special, like a firework.

The poetic device that I think has the most emotional effect on me was when Katy Perry sang, "ignite the light and let it shine, just own the night like the fourth of July". To me that statement ment that you can show people who you are and you can do great things. It made me feel like a star when she sang that line, it made me feel important, like i wasn't afraid to speak out or do something incredible.

Imagery is the poetic device that I believe was used the best in her song. Perry really made the lyrics stand out. When I read the lyrics, I can actually feel like I'm a plastic bag, and imagine that I am buried six feet under screams. This poetic device made me feel like I was in the song she was singing, and that I had been in those situations.

The poetic device that put emotion in for me was rhyme. I chose rhyme because whenever. I hear rhyme it makes me feel good. Rhyme affects me when the words used are ones that mean something. Not words for humor or to be silly. The words that make you actually think about what you are listening and what they might mean.

The poetic device that affected me the most is rhyme. All the rhymes she used always ended sadly at the end. Like “waste of space and cannot be replaced. So when I heard the rhyme I felt sorry for the person that she is talking about. In other words I could see someone feeling sad, and waste of space.

When Katy Perry's song "Firework" got to the part where she sang, "Do you ever feel, feel so paper, like a house of cards, one blow from caving in," I identified as Imagery and Simile because it used like, and appealed to 3 of my 5 senses, my eyes and ears and touch. It made me feel sorry for Katy because I thought she meant herself feeling paper thin to the world. Like if, for instace, the poparrazi did something and made her feel embarrassed or humiliated.

Metaphore was used the most cause when they say " Baby your a fire work" thats comparing two things that have nothing in common. Its also comparing them without saying "like" or "as". It really didn't cause a emotional effect in me cause I really don't like that song.

The poetic device that was most emotional to me was ryhme. With out the ryhmes it might not be as good of a song so, it might different words. The emotional effect would be how it all fits together, how it has the ryhmes to make it what it is. An example in the song would be-You just gotta ignite the light.

The one poetic device that I really thought made it emotional was metaphor. It made it made it moving, touching or emotional was how she compared you or asked you if you felt like this or like that, like asking you if you feel like a house of cards or plastic bag or a waste of space. Really something that’s really flimsy. Something that will really make you change your life or the way you feel.

In the last paragraph when Katy Perry sang; "Boom, boom, boom even brighter than the moon, moon, moon it's always been inside of you, you, you." The poetic device is onomatopoeia because, Katy Perry is describing a sound using words. The emotional effect this song gave me is that, she seemed to be saying that you are amazing no matter what anybody thinks or says.

I think that the hyperbole created an emotional effect for me because of the emphasis. Emphasis always catches my attention because it makes the song seem like it'scoming from my point of view. I think that a hyperbole can almost always add some emphasis. The reason that the hyperbole was used so effectively was that hyperbole's make the song very dramatic. In the song they use similes. It was used effectively by comparing how you feel to strong emotional things. It made an effect on me by turning the similes into things that I feel like I am actually alike in some ways. For example when it says “we” hypothetically speaking are like fireworks the simile has a way of making me feel like I am a firework, and that I can do anything I put my mind to.

I think the idioms were most effective, especially "After a hurricane, comes a rainbow" creates the most emotional effect in me. They affected me by making me look for the good thing inside me. For example when it says “You don’t have to feel like a waste of space you’re original, cannot be replaced.” I think about how there is no one else like me in this entire world, no one else you has the dreams and goals that I do. On poetic device that gave me strong feelings was the metaphor “Don’t feel like a waste of space”…etc. Really touched me cause I feel that way. Like when my brother makes me feel like that every week or day he mocks me bullies me and doesn’t understand how it feels to pick on the way he does. Or when I’m bulled at school some person hurts me and my friend emotionally a lot and made me feel like a waste of space. In the song “Firework” the poetic device that makes me like the song so much are the metaphors. The metaphors make you really grab hold of the songs message and hold on until the very last note. “Firework” has helped me to see that you have to express yourself for who you are. The one poetic device that was mostly used was 'symbol. How it created an "emotional effect" on me is because, Katy Perry is a sort of person that put's a mental picture in your head of what the song is about ,what it looks like ,and what it represents. This song (Firework) is sort of like the book, The Hunger Games. The Author put's a mental picture in your head. It's like you were actually there with them. A metaphor I like in the Katy Perry song “Firework” is the metaphor between a firework and a person. I like this metaphor because it reminds me to not be afraid to show people what I’m capable of. It created an emotional effect on me that’s sad, by saying stuff like, “Do you ever feel like a plastic bag, drifting through the air, wanting to start again?” It makes me think of how sad I would be, if I was a plastic bag wanting to start again, just drifting through the air, all alone.
