Who: President Barack Obama and Governor Mitt Romney
Vice President Joe Biden and Congressman Paul Ryan
What: Four televised debates
When: 6:00 - 7:30 PM (Pacific Time)
1st Debate -- October 3rd (Domestic Policy)
2nd Debate -- October 11th (Foreign and Domestic Policy)
3rd Debate -- October 16th (Foreign and Domestic Policy)
4th Debate -- October 22nd (Foreign Policy)
Where: Colorado, Kentucky, New York, and Florida
Why: The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) was established in 1987 to ensure that debates, as a permanent part of every general election, provide the best possible information to viewers and listeners. Its primary purpose is to sponsor and produce debates for the United States presidential and vice presidential candidates and to undertake research and educational activities relating to the debates.
The debates will be shown live on many TV channels, including C-SPAN, ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN and NBC, starting at 6 PM Pacific Time.
